Character and style development

This week, I started the first actual illustration. It thematises the brutality of meat production. It shows a lion in the role of a butcher in his shop. However, at second glance, the butcher’s shop does not sell items that we are used to. There are various items to be discovered that have been made out of human body parts, such as ears, fingers and even whole corpses hanging from the ceiling.

The visual development of the main character, the lion, took a long time. At first, I could not decide rather I wanted to illustrate in a children’s book style or more realistic. I now chose kind of a mixture between the two and finished drawing the lion.
